Payment Terms:
The Darling St Chapel will hold space for up to 7 days without a deposit; however, a non-refundable booking fee of $70 is required at the time of booking, plus a bond of $350 is charged for the Ultimate Wedding Package. Silver & Reception Only Functions bond is $250. All bonds are fully refundable at conclusion (paid by cheque within 3-5 days after function) as long as there is no damage/cleaning fee charged and all conditions of hire are met throughout your wedding and reception.
PLEASE NOTE: Prices and conditions may change subject to Darling St Chapel management discretion.
Cancellations
If your function is cancelled, the following conditions apply:
• Notice of more than six months: 50% bond fee will be refunded
• Notice of 6 months or less due to costs incurred/lost bookings, unfortunately no refund can be made on bond fee.
• Booking date transfers can be made at a cost of $100
• No refunds on settled accounts if wedding is cancelled or does not proceed on the day.
Hire Conditions
Darling St Chapel has a standard 5hr venue hire for all wedding receptions and functions. Extended hours are charged at $100 p/hr or their part of and are generally deducted from bond deposits unless the extended hours are pre-paid. For the comfort of our neighbours all functions have a strict 11.30pm curfew.
For wedding ceremonies Darling St Chapel will open 30 mins prior to your wedding with car parking reserved at the front of the centre for your bridal vehicles. As a general rule depending on guest numbers management can convert your chapel venue to reception venue in approx 1hr. No guests are permitted to remain in our centre whilst reception set-up takes place.
Ipswich Grammar School gardens and waterfalls are provided for use free of charge for all weddings. All patrons are advised that NO ALCOHOL is permitted on Ipswich Grammar School grounds nor are guests permitted to enter areas other than the gardens and waterfall area.
Darling St Chapel is available for Ceremony Rehearsal on the night prior to your wedding for a fee of $100. (maximum 2hrs)
Food and Beverage Minimums:
The food and beverage minimum at The Darling St Chapel is 50 people regardless of chosen wedding package. The minimum requirements are inclusive of GST. Children attending your wedding are charged at $5 per year of age until they reach the normal rate charged for your chosen wedding package i.e. 5yrs of age x $5 = $25. Your minimum amount of 50 people must be reached before the children’s rate takes effect.

*Minimum of 60 people for Sept – Oct weddings

BYO Alcohol Policy

The Darling St Chapel is a BYO facility which provides substantial savings compared to licensed function venues. The following conditions apply for all functions:

  • A $2.50 pp corkage fee is charged for all functions and includes the serving of all  beer/wine/premixed drinks and soft drinks for your function. This amount is charged per person attending your function including children. Our corkage charge is extremely reasonable and basically covers staff wages to serve alcohol/drinks for your function.
  • If hirers require spirits to be mixed from bottles a $3.50 pp corkage fee is charged.
  • Management will run your BYO bar as if it were a licensed facility. We refuse the right to serve intoxicated or unruly patrons.
  • As a general rule 6-7 standard drinks per person is adequate for your function. Generally a mix of light, mid strength and heavy/imported beers premixed spirit drinks combined with red/white and sparkling wines for toasting is recommended. Please speak with management for further advice on drink requirements.
  • Music

    The Darling St Chapel provides  In-House music and DJ for $$125  for all functions. If you choose to bring your own CD/music compilations for your function the $$125  DJ charge will be waived as music can be played by Darling St Chapel bar staff. Remember if this option is chosen you must supply all music by CD or USB memory stick. Our staff will simply play the music compilations you have made. As a general rule no outside DJ’s are permitted in our venue.
